“For many years, I have suffered unrelenting pain on both sides of my lower back—part of the problem related to arthritic hips that were replaced in 2012. However, the problem persisted despite further attempts to identify the cause more clearly. Finally, a diagnosis from the Fraser Valley Pain Clinic suggested the problems were muscular. So a special type of regular massage was initiated. This was pursued for about 1 year until some pain relief was achieved, but it was not satisfactory. Approximately two years ago, a suggestion was made to try a Pilates regimen.
Although I was somewhat cynical about that approach, my wife convinced me to at least try the practice.
Angela was the first instructor to lead my routines. And she did that with a thorough understanding of my limited condition, my exasperation with past results, and my anxiety about the new process. In a low-key but determined fashion, over the course of one year, she not only guided my continued development of Pilates techniques on both the Reformer and the Mat but also strengthened my core to a level that temporarily alleviated my lower back pain. She also helped me understand my own responsibilities for improving muscle strength.
The entire experience and Angela’s approach were so encompassing that we also became personal friends. And I know that her past supervisory experience with our studio was sorely missed when she decided to expand her world experiences.
All of this leads me to strongly recommend Angela in whatever endeavours she wishes to pursue in the field of Pilates, whether it be simply coaching or using her expertise in organizing larger business interests.”

“I write this letter on behalf of Angela. I have been taking lessons in Pilates for the last 62 years, and in all that time, until last year, I had never had or experienced such intense professionalism and instruction from someone with such a wonderful personality as Angela. For me to write this is quite extraordinary, because I have enjoyed various teachers over a number of years for each and thought that I was being taught well, but now at my age to realise how wonderful a teacher can be is quite an eye opener.
I met Angela at a studio in the Bahamas, which I really did not like. I hated the ambience there, which was nothing of her doing, and yet I stuck with it simply because of her ability, professionalism and personality. I will take any opportunity to recommend her as the most wonderful Pilates teacher.
She told me she was leaving, and my surprise was that she said she was going to Palma, which is where we spend the summer, and the thought of being able to enjoy her teaching during my summer here is quite exciting.”

“After healing from major surgery in 2021, I decided to explore the benefits of Pilates. There was a studio near our new home, so this seemed like a great opportunity to get started. I asked my husband to join me as he’d had unresolved arthritic pain for many years.
We were very lucky to have Angela as our first instructor. We are in our mid- to late 70s, and she expertly guided us through a variety of routines tailored to improve our strength, endurance, and flexibility.
Through all of this, she was patient, understanding, and accommodating, changing the program at any time to fit the needs of a particular day or week. I would highly recommend Angela as a Pilates teacher. She has all the skills required to be an excellent instructor. She also has proven skills in running a business and overseeing other instructors.
Whether it be as an instructor, a colleague or a business associate, it will be a great opportunity for anyone to work with Angela.”

“My experience with Angela as my Pilates Instructor.
Walking down the long hall after my first session a fellow client said “you will get better.” I was in so much pain I could not answer. After three sessions I noticed some improvement. Now, after several months, I do not even notice it is a long hall because I am pain free.
Now that I am pain free my walk in the park with my dog is a joy not a job that needs to be done. Thank you pilates for returning the joy.
Now I can walk in the park with my dog and enjoy the event.
Now I feel absolutely great! Do not feel my age and do not act my age. I’m back!
Because my condition was complicated by two factors: 1) physical body pain and 2) post concussion syndrome I elected private sessions. My practitioner worked with the major issues I presented at the beginning of each session. Now my symptoms are either minimal or non existent. This shows how far I have come.
After almost two years and trying several other modalities without improvement I chose to try pilates. I was experiencing pain walking and significant pain going up stairs, taking one stair at a time and hauling myself up with my arms was not easy. At the beginning of my journey I had an x-ray. Outcome? Arthritis in one hip and age related deterioration. In addition for years prior had a chronic pain in mid back and unable to obtain relief with other therapies. Pilates has made a significant change in my life. I can walk and climb the stairs pain free.”

“Angela Jones was my private pilates instructor for about a year. As well as taking her private classes I have also taken her group pilates sessions.
Angela’s passion for pilates is evident in every class that she teaches. She is an incredible teacher and extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of pilates. She takes the time to explain how the various moves affect the body and she also takes the time to insure the moves are being done correctly so as not to cause any damage whether it be in a private or group session.
I have a very bad back so she will taper my private sessions to what helps my back feel better and over the last few months she has done wonders for my back. In the group sessions if someone has back, knee or any other area of concern with the body she will offer different, less stressful variations of the same move so her students are able to partake in the group classes. She is extremely knowledgeable on how the human body works and how pilates can help each of her students. She shows genuine concern for each of her students and that is something you do not always find at some pilates studios.
With Angela’s help I have gone from going to the chiropractor every two weeks to now going about once every 3 months.
Aside from being a wonderful instructor Angela is also a very kind, compassionate and funny person. We do the work but also have a lot of fun and laughs along the way which to me is important. We are all very sorry to see her leave us but we are happy to see her start this new chapter in her life. Any pilates studio would be extremely lucky to have her as an instructor.”

“I have known Angela Jones for ten years. I met Angela when she decided to take on my 500 hour Pilates teacher training program at Mindful Movement Pilates. Angela was an exceptional student and put everything into her training. She went above and beyond with her commitment to the program and finished with outstanding marks.
She began working for me at Mindful Movement immediately after graduation and has been with me ever since.
Angela shows dedication to her work by going out of her way to sub for other teachers when they need time off, being constantly willing and available to learn and grow as a teacher and always showing up to work on time with a friendly warm smile on her face. She also takes on the manager role at the studio.
Angela has a natural ability to connect with her clients which makes it easy for her to grow and retain her client base and making her a well loved and respected teacher at the studio.”
